We diid Legoland rather quickly (just one day), by the time we got there I think we were all tired, worn out and getting ready to go home...at least the parents were! It was also very hot in Legoland and not a lot of shade to be found. Chase was too short to go on most of the rides (by about 1 inch) and did not understand why he could not ride the go go's (neither could I for that mater), he did really enjoy this little train ride (all total he rode 8 times), and their many water play areas and playgrounds. Hunter had a blast on all the rides, enjoyed the dino dig and dinocoaster, and also the minitureland with replicas of many national and international landmarks built in legos (the eifel tower, mount rushmore, new york, las vagas, and much much more, I did not get many oictures feeling the need to rest my feet and back more than wander....all that holding of a 15lb, 4oz baby wore me out!)

Disneyland!
Bobby was lucky enough to get both of Hunter's school vacations off this year so we decided to head to take advantage of our last year in CA, and our first chance at a big family vacation in years. The boys loved Disneyland and California great adventure. Hunter was big enough to go on all the rides this year, and had a blast doing so, he loves roller coasters! Chase did not always get the concept of lines and got frustrated, and ended up taking long naps everyday, but he enjoyed the rides he did go on, with "go,go's, choo choo's" and flying go go's being his favorite (translation, cars, trains, and planes, dumbos, rockets exc..). He also really ejoyed all the water in CA great adventure. Logan enjoyed all of the time being held and carried by Mom in his new sling, and now still wants to be held all the time!

A visit from Ella, Steph, Deb & Cecil
Well everyone came down to CA to visit the week after Christmas and rented a house near us. Hunter had a lot of fun with Ella as always and Logan got a lot of cuddles and love from everyone.....especially Auntie Deb! Chase kept everyone busy running after him, and bothered the older kids by trying to play with them. Luckily for him by this time next year he will have a best buddy in his new cousin Amira, Ella's new sister who will be adopted in March) who is one year younger then him (like Ella is with Hunter). During the week there was a lot of playtime, golden gate park, the zoo, the beach (for a beautiful day in Dec.), seeing the monarch butterflies, lots of lights, Ella's 4th Birthday, and lots of good food and company. Hunter had great fun in building Lego dinosaurs with Uncle Cecil (and nana & Pop Pop), and found a great audience to show off his new reading skills, by reading to everyone who would listen.
Christmas!
Christmas was very special to us this year for several reasons 1. Logan's 1st Christmas 2. the first christmas since we have been in CA that Bobby has not had to work part of the day either Christmas or Christmas eve, 3. The 1st Christmas since we have been in CA that we have spent it with Nana & Pop Pop (or any other relatives). Chase got very into Christmas unwrapping investigating playing non stop, very different than when Hunter was that age and overwelmed by Christmas. On Christas eve we allowed an excited Hunter to open one present. He went for a large box of playmobils that I had packaged in a box that had once held wipes. As he unwrapped the box and saw it was wipes he ooked up at us and said "umm, I'm really not too excited about this" as I cracked up laughing, Bobby reasured Hunter that there really was something better inside.

Christmas prep 2008!
Christmas was a busy time this year. Hunter was in his 1st school performance which mommy was not able to attend (having just checked myself out of the hospital that morning .....2 days early). Luckily Nana and Pop Pop were able to get here in time to help with Christmas preperations such as putting up Christmas lights and baking cookies, going to see santa, and assisting with present wrapping! Thanks Nana & Pop Pop! Of course Chase was creative in getting what he wanted.....to open ALL the doors in the advent calender (and get the candy) at once.
